Mr.Sekar received prestigious 2008 Meritorious Service Award

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Chicago: Mr.Sekar received prestigious 2008 Meritorious Service Award from WorldWide Employee Relocation Council for his significant contribution by speaking in conferences, writing in Global Mobility magazines, serving on Asia Pacific Committee, etc. He will be recognized at Global Workforce APAC Summit in Shangai in March, 2008.

Born in Chennai for a lower middle class family of jewelers - his father Late Venkata Rao from Udupi and Kalyani from Udupi, Sekar, a self made man, grew up with hardwork, determination and with high moral values. He has been supported in this journey by his wife, Veena Sekar, daughter of Late S.Mahabala Shet, famously known as `HMT Mablu'. He has a beautiful daughter who is also working as HR Executive in a software company after completing her MBA. She has, fortunately, similar values of her parents.

Sekar's actual surname should have been Rewankar, belonging to Kaushika Gotra and having God Vimleshwar (in Goa) as his Kula Devata. However, he chose to be called as U.V.G.Sekar (Udupi Venkatarao Guna Sekar). He is currently living in Bangalore. Though he lived in US, Singapore and HongKong, he and his wife chose to be in India.
